Kongsberg Clinches Landmark Deal to Deliver Naval Strike Missiles Valued at NOK12 Billion for US Navy and Marine Corps

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (‘KONGSBERG’) has secured a multi-year procurement agreement with the US Navy for the provision of Naval Strike Missile (NSM) projectiles to the Navy and Fleet Marine Force over a period of five years. The fixed-price arrangement announced today is valued at an estimated NOK 10 billion. This contract includes options that, if exercised, could elevate the overall value to around NOK 12 billion.

“This agreement signifies the largest missile contract in KONGSBERG’s history and represents a monumental accomplishment for our organization. We are thrilled that the United States has selected KONGSBERG as a collaborative partner and look forward to ongoing cooperation to strengthen US defense capabilities and deliver value for essential stakeholders in both Norway and the US,” expressed Geir Håøy, President and CEO of KONGSBERG.

NSM is at the core of the Navy’s Over-the-Horizon Weapons System (OTH-WS) Program, currently being executed on Littoral Combat Ships and CONSTELLATION-class Frigates. KONGSBERG is also supplying NSM to the US Marine Corps as a pivotal component of its NMESIS (Navy Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System) Program.

“This contract illustrates the strong demand for our precision strike missiles across NATO and allied nations, which is why we have launched a new missile manufacturing facility in Norway this year and inaugurated two operations in Australia and the US. The multi-year procurement framework ensures KONGSBERG and all our subcontractors stability throughout the entire supply chain and workforce,” noted Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.

KONGSBERG recently revealed plans to establish a new missile production plant in James City County, Virginia, in response to the increasing demand for JSM and NSM.
