EDGE Secures Historic Contract to Deliver 200 Unmanned Helicopters to UAE Defense Ministry
EDGE, recognized as one of the globe’s premier advanced technology and defense organizations, has finalized a monumental agreement to deliver 200 HT-100 and HT-750 unmanned aerial vehicles to the UAE Ministry of Defence, as part of a significant arrangement which is the largest-ever procurement of unmanned helicopter systems, aimed at bolstering their vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities. The unmanned VTOL systems will be produced by the Switzerland-based EDGE subsidiary, ANAVIA, which excels in crafting and manufacturing autonomous aerial technologies.
The compact HT-100 and the larger HT-750 are versatile unmanned performance helicopters designed for ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) and logistics operations, engineered to transport substantial payloads while ensuring remarkable flight stability – setting the benchmark for autonomous flying.

Khaled Al Zaabi, President of Platform & Systems at Edge Group, stated: “This significant agreement represents a pivotal moment both for the HT-100 and HT-750 systems and for EDGE. This unprecedented order signifies the initial procurement by the UAE Ministry of Defence for these state-of-the-art aircraft, as well as the largest order in ANAVIA’s history, underscoring the trust placed in these outstanding products by clients worldwide. It also highlights EDGE’s strategy to cultivate mutually beneficial alliances globally, similar to our partnership with ANAVIA, which enables us to broaden the spectrum of our technological proficiencies across various domains, while assuring sustainable growth for both entities and contributing towards the advancement of sovereign capabilities throughout the aerial, terrestrial, and naval sectors.”

In November 2023, EDGE acquired a 52% controlling stake in ANAVIA, which generates and produces unmanned helicopters capable of executing mission-critical surveillance, reconnaissance, and transportation missions, in addition to being easily adaptable across EDGE’s extensive range of air, land, and maritime capabilities – further solidifying EDGE’s status as a leader in the autonomous systems market.
