MBDA Unveils Revolutionary Land Cruise Missile: A Leap Forward in Deep Precision Strike Technology

MBDA introduces the Land Cruise Missile (LCM) system, a groundbreaking ground-launched Deep Precision Strike asset, tailored to address the requirements of the evolving strategic landscape on the battlefield.

LCM leverages all of MBDA’s proficiency in the domain of Deep Precision Strike, drawing from the combat-tested Naval Cruise Missile (NCM) currently in operation on French Navy frigates and attack submarines.

The LCM system represents a distinctive European sovereign alternative for a deep strike ground-launched cruise missile apparatus, conceived, manufactured, and assembled centrally in Europe. Clients utilizing NCM missiles alongside the LCM system will join an exclusive contingent of nations possessing exceptional long-range Deep Precision Strike capabilities, accountable from beneath and from surface maritime platforms as well as from terrestrial bases.

The LCM system will deliver the same unparalleled capabilities as the NCM, which include: fine precision at remarkable ranges; enhanced survivability while penetrating enemy integrated air defense networks due to minimized radar cross-section and terrain-following capabilities; and formidable lethality against designated targets. Additionally, it will facilitate a highly precise synchronized time-on-target (STOT) function, as previously showcased through the simultaneous NCM assault from a frigate and a submerged submarine conducted by the French Navy in collaboration with DGA in April 2024. The LCM empowers forces to deter aggressive actions from rival adversaries by establishing a persistent and immediate risk to enemy high-value assets.

With the LCM operational concept, MBDA will provide an all-encompassing integrated system, including a mission planning suite and ground launchers installed on specialized land platforms, delivering agility, survivability, and responsiveness for ground troops in high-intensity environments.
