Sikorsky Secures a $251.4 Million Contract with Jordan and Croatia!

Sikorsky secured a contract valued at $251.4 million to manufacture Black Hawk helicopters for Jordan and Croatia.

These aircraft will assist both nations in transporting cargo and personnel, securing their borders, combating terrorism, and locating those in need of assistance.

The initiative is expected to be completed by June 2027.

This is not the inaugural occasion that these nations procured American helicopters. Jordan acquired two Black Hawks in 2022 to enhance their current fleet, while Croatia obtained eight to replace their outdated Soviet-era helicopters.

The UH-60M Black Hawk serves as the primary medium-lift helicopter of the US Army. It features a twin-engine design with superior rotor blades, instruments, controls, and navigation systems compared to the previous UH-60A model.

Additionally, it includes a state-of-the-art digital system that enhances pilots’ situational awareness. The Black Hawk is capable of flying at speeds up to 151 knots (nearly 280 kilometers per hour) and can cover over 276 nautical miles (over 511 kilometers) before requiring refueling. According to the producer, Sikorsky, the Black Hawk is engineered to be the most secure and efficient helicopter of its category.
