Saab Secures Deal with Lithuania for Advanced RBS 70 Missile Systems

Saab has finalized a four-year agreement with the Lithuanian Defence Materiel Agency, enabling the client to place orders for RBS 70 missiles until 2026. A preliminary purchase under this new agreement has already been made, totaling SEK 350 million. Deliveries are scheduled for 2023-2024.

The acquisition encompasses missiles for Saab’s ground-based air defense system RBS 70, which Lithuania has been utilizing since 2004.

“Our top-tier short-range air defense missiles provide a strategic advantage. The recent agreement will further enhance Lithuania’s aerial defense capabilities through the RBS 70 system and its superior performance missiles,” states Görgen Johansson, chief of Saab’s Dynamics business sector.

Saab’s range of short-range ground-based air defense missile systems consists of the RBS 70 and the latest iteration, RBS 70 NG. The RBS 70 system boasts an exceptional track record in the industry, with more than 1,600 launch platforms and upwards of 18,000 missiles supplied to 19 countries.
