ASELSAN’s YILDIRIM 100 Triumphs Against Infrared-Guided Missile Threats!
ASELSAN has effectively finalized the evaluation of the YILDIRIM 100 Directed Infrared Countermeasure (DIRCM) System, successfully deflecting live infrared-guided missiles fitted with warheads. This accomplishment showcased ASELSAN’s distinctive capability to safeguard airborne platforms.
ASELSAN, Türkiye’s premier defense enterprise, is persistently enhancing the security of airborne assets with state-of-the-art, homegrown technologies. Through the successful evaluation of YILDIRIM 100, Türkiye has reached a remarkable milestone in laser-based countermeasure capabilities, a domain excelled by only a select few nations globally.
During the evaluation, YILDIRIM 100 showcased its proficiency in neutralizing threats from infrared-guided missiles by directing multi-band laser energy at their seekers. As a mission-ready solution for contemporary aerial combat scenarios, YILDIRIM 100 will function as a force enhancer on the battlefield with minimal power usage and high operational readiness.
With the ability to detect, track, and neutralize multiple threats simultaneously, the YILDIRIM 100 system employs multi-band laser technology to jam and dazzle the seekers of infrared-guided missiles, guaranteeing effective self-defense for both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. Its dual-turret configuration, sophisticated sensors, and integrated control unit facilitate rapid, synchronized responses and seamless communication with missile warning systems. Fully compatible with diverse platforms, YILDIRIM 100 is tailored to counter both current and upcoming missile threats.
Commenting on this milestone, ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol remarked: “With the successful evaluation of YILDIRIM 100, we take immense pride in propelling our nation’s air defense capabilities to the forefront alongside the world’s leading powers. As we commemorate ASELSAN’s 50th anniversary, this achievement signifies our indigenous technological prowess and unwavering dedication to innovation. We will persist in developing groundbreaking systems that fulfill the dynamic demands of the modern battlefield.”
