Fincantieri and iGenius Join Forces to Forge a New Era of AI Advancements in Italy
Fincantieri has secured a contract with iGenius, an Italian startup focused on research and advancement in generative artificial intelligence technologies, with an aim to forge a collaboration for developing AI solutions centered around a fully Italian platform.
This partnership aspires to combine iGenius’ specialty in formulating and designing AI models with Fincantieri’s expertise as a system integrator across various value-added sectors in shipbuilding. As highlighted in a release, the collaboration will unfold through the investigation of practical uses in civilian and military sectors, beginning with the analysis of data retrieved from Fincantieri’s Omega 360 radar. This initiative is part of Fincantieri’s strategy to enhance Artificial Intelligence as it seeks to fortify technological mastery with significant developmental potential, evaluating solutions geared toward improving the performance, safety, and efficiency of its products and processes. iGenius, founded in 2010 by Uljan Sharka, who serves as its CEO, specializes in creating corporate Business Intelligence platforms built on generative artificial intelligence, facilitating data access through natural language via customized professional setups aligned with the users’ needs.
“To enhance Artificial Intelligence within our organization, we initiated an effort to identify the most promising practical applications and the leading-edge players, ensuring access to superior technologies while safeguarding the confidentiality of processed information, thus protecting our expertise,” stated Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and general manager of Fincantieri. “In this scenario – he added – the agreement with a globally recognized Italian entity like iGenius is a significant milestone for the Group and reinforces its dedication to systematizing the excellence of our country.” “We are thrilled to embark on this partnership with a global leader such as Fincantieri. This collaboration symbolizes the merging of technological innovation and a long-term vision, aiming to present groundbreaking generative artificial intelligence solutions crafted in Italy that will redefine standards of efficiency, safety, and sustainability in the naval sector,” declared Uljan Sharka, CEO of iGenius.
