Poland Secures Groundbreaking Agreement for 96 Advanced Boeing AH-64E Apache Helicopters

The Polish Government has concluded a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) for 96 Boeing AH-64E Apache assault helicopters, as part of the Polish KRUK Attack Helicopter program.

“We are honored that the Polish Government has entrusted us,” stated Vince Logsdon, vice president of International Business Development for Boeing Defense, Space & Security. “The AH-64E Apache helicopters will significantly enhance Poland’s operational capabilities and interoperability with the U.S., NATO, and allied forces. We are excited about the prospect of delivering this exceptional capability.”

The LOA was issued just a week following the Polish Ministry of National Defence unveiling an offset agreement with Boeing. This deal encompasses maintenance and support for the Polish Armed Forces’ Apache helicopter fleet by the domestic defense industry, as well as the initiation of training programs and support for establishing a composite laboratory.

The offset initiatives are designed to enhance the sustainment capabilities of the Polish defense sector, encourage the growth of highly skilled roles within this segment, and advocate for technological advancements, producing significant economic benefits.

“Poland’s choice to procure 96 aircraft marks the largest FMS order in the history of Boeing’s Vertical Lift division and will not only establish Poland as our 19th global Apache client but also the foremost operator outside the United States,” noted Kathleen Jolivette, vice president and general manager of Vertical Lift.

Boeing has been producing the AH-64 Apache for over four decades in Mesa, Arizona. The AH-64E signifies the latest evolution of the Apache, integrating a battle-proven design with state-of-the-art technologies to offer an unparalleled mix of performance and versatility. Presently, there are over 1,290 Apaches actively in service worldwide, with sustainment and training support provided by Boeing Global Services.

The Polish Government opted for the AH-64E Apache for the Polish Armed Forces’ upcoming attack helicopter fleet in September 2022.
