“Bell Celebrates a New Era: RCAF’s CH-146C MK II Griffon Helicopter Soars into the Future!”
Bell Textron Canada Limited, a division of Textron Inc., has announced the successful maiden flight of one of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s upgraded CH-146 Griffon helicopters, a model of the Bell 412EP, as part of the Griffon Limited Life Extension (GLLE) program. Through GLLE, Bell will provide enhancements to a selection of the fleet’s aviation components, including avionics systems, cockpit interfaces, engines, and sensor technologies. This proclamation comes shortly after Bell secured the In-Service Support (ISS) agreement aimed at sustaining the Force’s fleet through to 2039.
“The Bell 412 remains a highly esteemed aircraft for military entities globally, with the Royal Canadian Air Force operating the largest and most sophisticated militarized fleet of 412s,” remarked Danny Maldonado, chief commercial officer at Bell. “Bell feels honored to further our partnership with the Royal Canadian Air Force as they elevate their operational capabilities with innovative technologies.”
To commemorate this pivotal flight achievement, Bell hosted an event at Bell’s Commercial Centre of Excellence, allowing guests to witness the inaugural flight of the enhanced aircraft.
