“U.S. Army Unleashes $176 Million Funding Boost for Cutting-Edge Tactical Vehicles”
Oshkosh Defense has announced that the U.S. Army has completed another purchase for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program. This acquisition comprises 409 vehicles, 1,984 installed kits, 82 bundled kits, along with related services and support. The overall worth of this order, surpassing $176 million, signifies the fourth request for JLTVs since the contract was approved in August 2015.
“The JLTV program is equipping our Soldiers and Marines with the most sophisticated light tactical vehicle available globally,” remarked Dave Diersen, vice president and general manager of Joint Programs at Oshkosh Defense. “We have begun delivering low-rate production vehicles to the Army and Marine Corps for governmental assessment in diverse environments nationwide, and we are gratified with its performance thus far.” The vehicles and kits from this recent order are expected to start delivery in late 2017.
