Leonardo Launches Next-Gen Al Manama Ship for Bahrain’s Maritime Defense
Manama, 23 January 2017 – Recently, during a ceremony at Mina Salman within the Royal Bahrain Navy Headquarters, Leonardo is showcasing the first of six enhanced Al Manama naval vessels ahead of the planned schedule, following an agreement finalized in 2015 with the Royal Bahrain Naval Force. This upgrade features a state-of-the-art weapon control system, training services, and logistical support.
This represents yet another significant success for Leonardo in Bahrain, where the company has also delivered cutting-edge air traffic control radar systems, enhancing the safety and efficiency of the nation’s airspace management.
Bahrain, along with other nations in the Gulf region, stands to gain even more from Leonardo’s expertise in the naval sector, where the firm has a solid track record in upgrading corvettes, offshore patrol vessels, and frigates. Additionally, in the land domain, the company offers comprehensive integrated solutions, warfare systems, and cost-effective refurbishment programs.
