ARQUUS Launches Innovative VT4 Standard 2 Manufacturing Lines
On December 7, 2018, the DGA unveiled the subsequent phase of the VT4 initiative to ARQUUS. This stage comprises 1,200 additional Standard 2 units. The manufacturing and distribution of the Standard 2 began at the onset of the year. ARQUUS strives to deliver 800 Standard 2 VT4 units throughout 2019.
To achieve this objective, the ARQUUS production facility in Saint-Nazaire has enhanced its VT4 assembly line, adding extra workstations. The knowledge acquired from the VT4 Standard 1 project has also contributed to refining processes to guarantee optimal efficiency and the highest quality standards.
The VT4 Standard 2 introduces 350 new references and showcases various improvements over Standard 1: the integration of advanced communication and navigation systems, additional racks, towing mechanisms, and blackout lighting features.
This version of the VT4 is specifically designed for air transport, thereby elevating its tactical operational capabilities.
The VT4 is a 4×4, unarmored, versatile vehicle, specifically designed for command post and liaison tasks. It can house five soldiers or four operators equipped with the FELIN system. With a payload capacity of up to 900kg, it is perfectly suited for domestic operations (Sentinelle, training, liaison) as well as international assignments in low-threat scenarios.
ARQUUS offers a complete services package that is fully integrated, innovative, and exemplifies a strong commitment to maintaining technical operational readiness (90%) across the entire fleet.
By the year 2025, 3,700 ARQUUS VT4s will be delivered to the Army, replacing the P4 vehicle. In 2018, the first batch of 500 Standard 1 VT4s was handed over to the French Army.
