
BARKAN Shines Bright at Winter Exercise 2025!
The “Winter Exercise-2025”, coordinated by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), advances in Kars amid frigid weather conditions with involvement from 20 varied nations.
Carried out under the supervision of the 3rd Army Command and managed by the 9th Corps Command, the training is led by the 14th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command at the Şehit İstihkam Astsubay Kıdemli Üstçavuş İlhan Hamlı Shooting and Exercise Area. This drill, which commenced on January 20, brings together 12,199 troops, including 12,000 from Turkey and 199 from 20 partner nations, such as the United States, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Italy, Kosovo, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, France, the United Kingdom, Libya, Mongolia, Niger, Tajikistan, and Jordan.
The exercise focuses on mortar tactics, search and rescue operations, collaboration in joint missions, assessing combat readiness, coordination of fire and maneuver, along with logistical and support tasks.
Additionally, the families of martyrs, veterans, and students were invited to the exercise site, where they were introduced to Turkey’s indigenous and national defense advancements.
HAVELSAN’s Technological Brilliance at Winter Exercise-2025!
As a leader in Turkey’s defense industry, HAVELSAN showcased its technological prowess during Winter Exercise-2025 with the unveiling of the BARKAN Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV). BARKAN, which was integrated into the Turkish Armed Forces’ inventory in 2023, has been actively employed in multiple operational roles, significantly enhancing the tactical capabilities of military units.
During the exercise, BARKAN displayed its advanced autonomous features and adaptable design, efficiently accomplishing tasks in reconnaissance-surveillance, logistics assistance, combat operations, and electronic warfare. Thanks to its exceptional mobility in severe winter conditions, precise threat targeting, and flawless interoperability with other unmanned systems, BARKAN stood out as a prominent highlight of the drill.
The system also received considerable attention from the families of martyrs and veterans in attendance, reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to advancing its defense sector through indigenous and groundbreaking technologies.
