Patria Set to Supply Advanced NEMO Mortar Systems to Swedish Amphibious Forces via Swede Ship Marine AB
Sweden is enhancing its maritime defence capabilities with the addition of eight new mortar vessels. These ships will be outfitted with the advanced Patria NEMO Navy turreted 120 mm system.
For the first time, Patria is providing its mortar system to the Swedish military as a subcontractor for Swede Ship Marine AB. Amphibious units stationed in Stockholm and Gothenburg will soon possess eight vessels capable of offering artillery assistance from the marine environment.
The acquisition of these vessels has been made by FMV (Försvarets materielverk) from Swede Ship Marine AB. Additionally, Patria is supplying its NEMO mortar systems for training and operational readiness.
Patria NEMO Navy is a lightweight and compact system, perfectly suited for deployment in agile naval fleets and mechanized units. The turret can be seamlessly integrated into various platforms, including the Patria 6×6 armored vehicle, which has already been procured by the Swedish armed forces from Patria. This synergy will be showcased when the Swedish army commemorates its 500-year anniversary at Gärdet, Stockholm, on 27 May 2023.
