HÜRKÜŞ-B Soars into the Skies: A Pioneering First Test Flight!

HÜRKUŞ-B: A New Era for Turkish Armed Forces

The HÜRKUŞ-B aircraft is set to join the Turkish Armed Forces’ inventory mid-year. Recently, it successfully completed its inaugural test flight at the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facility. This aircraft is being developed with advanced features, ensuring a more stable and comprehensive design. Upcoming assessments will focus on critical aspects such as engine performance, avionics, stability, and overall flight test excellence. Once it surpasses 90 flight hours in planned sorties, it will officially enter service with the Turkish Armed Forces.

Key Features of HÜRKUŞ-B

Temel Kotil, PhD, President and CEO of TAI, highlighted the significance of HÜRKUŞ-B during its successful first test flight. Following the HÜRKUŞ-A, which was meant for civilian applications, this new model has been meticulously designed for military use. Kotil stated, “HÜRKUŞ-B is 100kg lighter, faster, and stronger than HÜRKUŞ-A, featuring a more modern design.” With this successful test flight completed, the aircraft will undergo further testing, including essential evaluations of its engine, avionics, and stability.

Unmatched Design and Performance

Emphasizing HÜRKUŞ-B as the best in its class, it boasts an exceptional cockpit design and advanced systems. Notably, features like the ejection seat, oxygen support, and landing gear resistance showcase the aircraft’s jet-like capabilities.
