“Crafting New Frontiers: The Alliance of EDGE Group and São Paulo State”

EDGE Group, acknowledged as a leading advanced technology and defense enterprise globally, consistently enhances its commitment as a respected partner in the strategically vital Brazilian landscape by collaborating with the São Paulo State Government on an extensive accord that will involve both entities engaging across multiple sectors in São Paulo.

The formal launch of a project focused on establishing a Collaboration Agreement and Work Plan was ratified by the Secretary of Public Security of São Paulo, Guilherme Muraro Derrite, alongside Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE Group. A significant component of this agreement included another signing related to crucial public safety projects integrating technology. This signing was witnessed by His Excellency the Governor of the State of São Paulo, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, and His Excellency the UAE Ambassador to Brazil, Saleh Ahmad Salem Alzaraim Alsuwaidi.

This development follows the initial announcement from EDGE in January 2024, which detailed the group’s strategy to further the initiative with a preliminary ‘Proof of Concept’ (PoC) phase designed to demonstrate how its innovative solutions could enhance public safety and security, reduce crime rates, and ultimately improve the community’s quality of life.

Reflecting on this milestone, Secretary Derrite commented: “This collaboration symbolizes the power of partnership and creativity in tackling security issues. It is an alliance that can deliver immediate benefits for the state’s public safety.”

Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE Group, expressed: “There are two noteworthy achievements here that deserve recognition. First, the strengthening of the valuable relationship EDGE has nurtured with the Government of São Paulo, extending to various sectors throughout Brazil, including local administration, civil society, and military forces—all based on the commitment to maintain safety and security. By sharing our expertise and knowledge, and by providing advanced anti-crime surveillance technologies to major cities like São Paulo, we can ensure that local communities and businesses can rely on a more sustainable and secure future.

“Secondly, the signing of this agreement has enabled us to effectively demonstrate how EDGE can utilize its state-of-the-art technological capabilities to assist the city of São Paulo in public security efforts, including CCTV, AI, advanced surveillance and reconnaissance, as well as aerial solutions like intelligent drones, among other innovative and complementary offerings available in EDGE’s comprehensive portfolio of products and services.”

This groundbreaking project is the first of its kind in Latin America and will act as a pilot for future initiatives across various districts in São Paulo and other urban regions in Brazil.
