“Oman Soars into the Future: Embracing Advanced Air Mobility”

The Contemporary College of Business and Science (CCBS) and Boeing have declared a partnership aimed at fostering innovation and nurturing talent for the upcoming advanced air mobility sector in Oman.

The collaborative “Air Taxis and Advanced Air Mobility” program will utilize CCBS’ robust educational foundation and Boeing’s industry knowledge to unlock the potential in this domain within Oman. This initiative will grant CCBS’ undergraduate aviation scholars, 76% of whom are female, with chances for pioneering research to advance air mobility technologies. Furthermore, students will engage in business competitions related to urban air mobility and acquire leadership and entrepreneurial abilities.

Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Boeing Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Central Asia, commented: “Boeing has a persistent dedication to Oman, and we are enthusiastic about contributing to the advancement of advanced air mobility in the nation. By leveraging our worldwide expertise, we aim to promote innovation and empower the next generation of Omani talent. We are excited to assist the students at CCBS as they delve into the prospects within this flourishing sector.”

Dr. Muneer Al-Maskari, CCBS’ Executive Chair, remarked: “With the recent inauguration of the CCBS Innovation X Center, our partnership with Boeing is transformative for our students. It provides them with unmatched opportunities to implement their learning and cultivate the leadership skills essential for success. We are delighted to collaborate with Boeing, a firm that aligns with our focus on emerging technologies, youth involvement, and sustainability.”

Over 530 undergraduate Bachelor of Science students at CCBS will take part in the initiative in 2025.

The program includes enhancing the curriculum, student initiatives, research and innovation, outreach, and advocacy. By uniting forces, CCBS and Boeing will incorporate advanced air mobility into the undergraduate aviation management and airport management courses at CCBS. Additionally, select students will compete in the Advanced Air Mobility Student Challenge. The research and innovation initiatives will involve establishing the Advanced Air Mobility Research Hub, concentrating on uncrewed aircraft system traffic management, noise reduction, and low-emission technologies. CCBS, with backing from Boeing, will also host conferences, workshops, and campaigns to advocate for safe and sustainable air mobility solutions in Oman.
