“Power Partners: Saudi Arabia’s SAMI and Turkey’s Defense Titans Join Forces for Cutting-Edge Advancements”
The publicly-owned Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) declared early Thursday that it has engaged in three memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Turkish companies to “promote the localization of defense manufacturing” within the Kingdom.
In its announcement, SAMI revealed that it has teamed up with Türkiye’s drone producer Baykar to “develop production capabilities” and refine systems for Baykar’s unmanned aerial vehicles in Saudi Arabia.
SAMI has also joined forces with the Turkish aerospace and defense firm Aselsan to explore opportunities for enhancing defense electronic technologies in the country.
Moreover, SAMI has formed a preliminary agreement with Türkiye’s Fergani Space aimed at the “progress of innovative technologies in the Kingdom to support the global space sector,” the announcement indicated.
