Unlocking Local Potential: Raytheon Saudi Arabia Teams Up with GAMI for Strategic Growth
Raytheon Saudi Arabia, a branch of RTX (NYSE: RTX), and the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) today unveiled a collection of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing Saudi Arabia’s defense manufacturing ecosystem.
The initiatives encompass investigating the production and evaluation of several essential components within the Kingdom’s Patriot air defense framework – including the fabrication of the Patriot missile launcher in collaboration with Arabian International Company (AIC) for Steel, the creation of the GEM-T missile canister with Zahid Industries, and the ultimate assembly, integration, and testing of the Patriot GEM-T effector alongside Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI).
Raytheon Saudi Arabia will also partner with SAMI to train and deploy local talent who will ensure continuous air defense operations in the Kingdom, including the upkeep and repair of vital Patriot air defense system components.
“This strategic alliance highlights our dedication to the Kingdom’s defense industry, generating substantial value and fostering self-sufficiency to promote growth within the area,” stated Ahmad Al Salamah, managing director of Raytheon Saudi Arabia. “These initiatives will equip the tools, training, and resources necessary to support the Kingdom’s self-reliance and further enhance RTX’s global supply chain.”
Investments at AIC Steel, Zahid Industries, and various other supply partners across the Kingdom will empower these organizations to integrate into the Raytheon global supply chain and produce essential elements of the Patriot air defense system for both local and international use.
This partnership aligns with GAMI’s efforts to fortify the defense manufacturing ecosystem, incorporate Saudi companies into significant global supply chains, develop capabilities, and nurture local talent to achieve self-sufficiency and fulfill the aspirations of Vision 2030.
It also reiterates Raytheon Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to bolstering the Kingdom’s security and industrialization goals, as well as the advancement of the Kingdom’s defense supply chain.
