
“Skyward Ventures: Morocco Teams Up with Embraer in Exciting Aerospace Alliance”
The Moroccan Government has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Embraer to commence possible collaborative projects within the Moroccan aerospace industry, covering areas in commercial aviation, defense, and urban air travel.
The MOU further acknowledges the mutual goal to improve and expand collaboration and investment between the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Kingdom of Morocco, advocating for enhanced Atlantic cooperation as models from the Global South.
The agreement, established between The Moroccan Government and Embraer, was signed by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Ryad Mezzour; the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, responsible for Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Karim Zidane; the Managing Director of the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency, Mr. Ali Seddiki; and Embraer Commercial Aviation President and CEO, Mr. Arjan Meijer.
The parties have identified commercial opportunities, presenting substantial potential to generate reciprocal benefits in both the immediate and long-term future for Embraer and Morocco. The arrangement includes prospects in commercial aviation, defense, and urban air mobility, laying the groundwork for developing a cohesive sourcing ecosystem in Morocco, fostering innovation and economic growth, while contributing to employment creation and enhancing local skills.
This partnership initiative will also investigate a critical range of sectors in advanced stages by improving training and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul). Additional areas for possible collaboration include: R&T particularly focused on decarbonization, clean mobility, sustainable aviation practices, and eco-friendly aviation fuel.
“Today, we are formalizing a pioneering partnership agreement with Embraer at this prestigious event – the Marrakech airshow,” commented Mr. Ryad Mezzour, The Minister of Industry and Trade.
“This alliance not only highlights the strength of our Moroccan ecosystem but also positions us as a vital player in the international aerospace sector. It marks an essential moment in the progression of our aeronautical industry, strengthening our commitment to excellence and inviting strategic investments from global industry frontrunners. This collaboration will encourage a closer synergy between Morocco and the industry titan, Embraer, advancing our shared objectives and unlocking possibilities for innovative achievements in aerospace,” he elaborated.
“This denotes an exciting opportunity for Embraer to foster a long-lasting relationship with the vibrant Moroccan aerospace landscape,” stated Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
“It is especially satisfying that our new partners in Rabat emphasize skills and training just as we do at Embraer. Education and youth skill development are fundamental for any robust industry, and a common value among all parties involved. We look forward to making a significant impact collaboratively, advancing the sector and maximizing benefits for all,” he highlighted.
“Morocco is set to become a vital partner for Embraer Defense and Security, and we are committed to collaborating closely with the Royal Moroccan Air Force to establish the C-390 as the top choice for their Future Tactical Airlift capabilities. Our support would include comprehensive training, maintenance, and logistics for their fleet,” expressed Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense and Security.
“With an increasing number of countries selecting the C-390 due to its outstanding performance and high availability, now is the right time for the Royal Moroccan Air Force to consider joining this strong community,” he added.
