Revolutionizing Indonesia’s Naval Might: Exail Unleashes Advanced Drone Technology for Mine Warfare
Exail, a global leader in robotics and maritime autonomy, has been selected to furnish several Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) and Mine Identification and Disposal Systems (MIDS) to the Indonesian Navy, enabling a completely integrated unmanned Mine Countermeasures (MCM) capability.
The contract entails the delivery of four Exail’s Inspector 90 USVs, in conjunction with Seascan and K-Ster Mine Identification and Disposal Systems. These advanced systems will be deployed from two new, cutting-edge MCM motherships, (KRI Pulau Fani and KRI Pulau Fanildo).
All systems will be remotely operated from the mothership and coordinated via Exail’s centralized Command and Control (C2) hub. The C2 hub, fortified with the Umisoft software suite and located in the vessel’s combat room, will provide integrated control software for both sweeping and hunting operations. Exail’s Umisoft software facilitates comprehensive mission planning, real-time tracking, multi-system coordination, and detailed post-mission evaluation and data management.
“This recent milestone highlights the strength of our modular MCM solution, UMIS, which has been specifically designed to adapt to the unique operational needs of each navy,” remarked Jérôme Bendell, Head of Exail Maritime Systems Business line. “Its flexibility enables the delivery of scalable, high-performing unmanned systems, customized for a wide range of mine warfare tasks. This choice, exemplifying yet another adaptable configuration, further cements Exail’s position as a key player in shaping the future of naval mine countermeasures.”
