
Jorge Tamarit Degenhardt Steps into the Spotlight as Eurofighter’s New Leader
Jorge Tamarit Degenhardt has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH, the management organization for the Eurofighter Typhoon. He was selected by the stakeholders of the Eurofighter consortium and leads the Company as a member of the Management Board.
Jorge, a dual citizen of Spain and Germany, joins Eurofighter from Airbus Defence & Space, where he has devoted the past two decades, progressing through the firm’s leadership to hold various prominent international executive roles.
His appointment follows the Eurofighter three-year partner company rotation policy. He succeeds Giancarlo Mezzanatto, who is returning to Leonardo S.p.A.

Jorge has significant Eurofighter knowledge, having most recently functioned as the Programme Head for Spain, spearheading all efforts associated with the Airbus contribution within the Eurofighter consortium.
He also oversaw the Airbus C295 India Programme, where he managed the largest C295 order in history, while establishing India’s inaugural private-sector aerospace and defense end-to-end production framework.
