Milrem Robotics Expands Its Horizons: New Hub Opens in Abu Dhabi
EDGE organization, Milrem Robotics, a global leader in robotics and autonomous systems innovation, announces the opening of its office in Abu Dhabi, strategically positioned to support local clients and capitalize on the burgeoning technology landscape of the region.
The new facility in Abu Dhabi will serve as an expertise center in the UAE, offering an ideal setting for R&D, product development, and strategic collaborations with government entities, educational organizations, and local businesses. It will also lead the implementation of the company’s agreement with the UAE Ministry of Defence, focused on delivering tracked robotic combat vehicles (RCVs) and THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to the armed forces. The contract, finalized in January 2024, represents the largest undertaking globally in combat robotics.
Milrem Robotics will initiate an experimental and trial program aimed at integrating unmanned ground assets into the arsenal of the UAE Armed Forces. This project represents a crucial advance towards improving the combat capabilities of the Armed Forces by deploying THeMIS UGVs and tracked RCVs equipped with advanced autonomous features, external payloads, and dependable communication technologies.
