
LEONARDO: EXCLUSIVE COLLABORATOR FOR THE MILAN CORTINA 2026 WINTER OLYMPICS AND PARALYMPICS
Leonardo along with the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 have revealed a pivotal collaboration agreement as part of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This partnership, enabled through cooperation with the Italian Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, signifies an important advancement in fostering the efficient management of field operators during the significant sporting occasion that will occur in Italy in 2026. Leonardo will implement a mission-critical, multi-technology, and multi-user communication framework.
In attendance at the agreement signing were Leonardo’s Chairman, Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo, Leonardo’s CEO, Roberto Cingolani, the President of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, Giovanni Malagò, and its CEO, Andrea Varnier.
Leonardo’s cutting-edge solutions – backed by its technological expertise and extensive background in secure communications for major events – will guarantee an exceptional experience for all participants in the Games.
The sporting occasion will adopt a decentralized framework, covering an expansive area for the first time: 22,000 km², encompassing two regions (Lombardy and Veneto), two autonomous provinces (Trento and Bolzano), and two cities (Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo).
