Celebrating 67 Trailblazing Women Engineers from Princess Nourah University’s Class of Excellence

The College of Engineering at PNU, in partnership with Rolls-Royce, a premier global aero-engine and technology firm, recently commemorated the successful graduation of the inaugural 67 female engineering graduates from PNU during a ceremony held on the university’s campus in Riyadh.

As a Platinum supporter of this graduation event, Rolls-Royce takes pride in collaborating with the College of Engineering to advance the shared aspirations of both entities in promoting women’s participation in the workforce through sustainable career paths that contribute to the Kingdom’s economic diversification strategy, aligned with the achievement of Vision 2030.

PNU is regarded as a symbol of knowledge and leadership in women’s education within the Kingdom, having been founded in 2007 and officially named after the sister of the Kingdom’s founder, His Majesty King Abdul Aziz bin Abdulrahman al Saud. Currently, PNU accommodates 770 female students within their engineering college.

Speaking on behalf of Rolls-Royce, Cate Wilkinson, Senior Vice President, remarked:

“Rolls-Royce is thrilled to support the Engineering College at Princess Nourah University. This collaboration mirrors our commitment to investing in STEM education, motivating young individuals towards highly skilled, sustainable careers. As the Kingdom experiences rapid advancements across various sectors, we aspire for a greater number of youth to pursue technology and engineering vocations. Our partnership with PNU is particularly significant as we approach International Women in Engineering Day on June 23.”

The students’ capstone projects showcased innovative applications of drone technology for search and rescue missions in isolated areas, explored how radio frequencies and lasers can enhance rapid medical responses, and aimed at optimizing cabin crew efficiency.
