Exail Secures Groundbreaking European Defense Contract for Cutting-Edge DriX Uncrewed Surface Vessels

French technology enterprise Exail has revealed a significant defense agreement with a European country for the provision of five DriX H-8 Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). This contract represents the largest to date for the DriX system and a pivotal advancement in its operational deployment for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations.

Initially intended for hydrographic operations, the DriX H-8 has matured into a versatile, multi-role USV that can function efficiently in both shallow and deep waters. Its flexibility facilitates utilization across a diverse array of civilian and military nautical assignments.

The DriX system has already been embraced by prominent naval forces, including the U.S. Navy and the French Navy. It has showcased its effectiveness during multinational exercises like NATO’s REPMUS and Task Force X operations.

“This contract underscores the increasing strategic demand for unmanned maritime ISR capabilities, and we are proud that DriX has been chosen to address that need,” stated Jérôme Bendell, Head of Exail Maritime Systems Business Line. “It also serves as a testament to DriX’s reliability, maturity, and operational significance.”

Bendell concluded: “We are grateful for the confidence placed in us by this European ally. At Exail, we remain dedicated to advancing innovation to enhance global maritime security.”
