EDGE Partners with Boeing for Precision Metallic Machined Components
EPI, a foundational element of precision engineering within the UAE’s aerospace, oil & gas, and defense sectors, has today revealed their contract to furnish numerous hard metal components for Boeing’s 777, 777X, and 787 commercial aircraft. This announcement was unveiled during the ongoing Dubai Airshow, which runs until 17 November at Dubai World Central.
According to the project scope, EPI will undertake the acquisition of raw materials, machining of components, and surface treatment procedures. By harnessing their industry-leading expertise and cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities, EPI will deliver their complete suite of services internally.
Having provided their services to Boeing since 2020, EPI is poised to supply parts to the B777 and B777X models for the first time. This contract furthers the enduring collaboration between EPI and Boeing, facilitated by the Tawazun Council.
In a statement, Michael Deshaies, CEO of EPI, remarked: “EPI is eager to fortify our alliance with Boeing by delivering superior quality manufactured metallic components. Through this contract and the supply of these critical titanium attach fittings, EPI will subsequently attain additional certifications for specialized processes involving titanium alloys. As a regional authority in precise machining, we take pride in advancing local airframe manufacturing and enhanced machining abilities.”
Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa at Boeing, noted: “The fabrication of vital aerospace materials is a significant milestone in establishing a robust local aerospace industry. The continuation of our collaboration with EPI will bolster Boeing’s supply network and broaden material sourcing options from the UAE. Together, we aim to accelerate the development of local airframe manufacturing, create new employment opportunities, and foster innovation.”
EPI produces superior-grade intricate engineering components for the defense, aerospace, and oil & gas industries, and is equipped with advanced capabilities for manufacturing engineering, machining, surface treatments, coatings, and assemblies. It is a key member of the Platforms & Systems cluster within EDGE, one of the preeminent advanced technology groups globally.
