Danish Defense and Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works® Showcase F-35 Flight Synergy
Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) Skunk Works along with the Danish Ministry of Defence (MOD) successfully concluded a live F-35 interoperability showcase. This achievement represents another advancement in a series of Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) demonstrations affirming the F-35’s role as a formidable force enhancer, empowering allied military units to swiftly deploy immediate capabilities to connect systems across the combat environment.
Danish F-35s operating from Fort Worth, Texas, transmitted classified information through DAGGR-2, a Skunk Works’ Open Systems Gateway (OSG) developed in collaboration with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), utilizing commercial satellite communications and showcased at Skrydstrup Air Base in Denmark.
“This represented a critical milestone in bolstering Denmark’s capabilities, allowing our MDO personnel to observe in real-time the potential of the F-35’s capacity to gather, evaluate, and disseminate sophisticated data over geographically separated networks,” stated Danish Air Chief, Maj. Gen. Jan Dam. “Our strong partnership with Skunk Works has been vital in accelerating the swift deployment of such capabilities, and we are extremely satisfied with the outcomes.”
“This partnership with the Danish MOD empowered us to excel in what we do best at Skunk Works – rapidly delivering immediate capabilities at a speed unmatched in the sector and validating it through practical flights,” remarked OJ Sanchez, vice president and general manager, Lockheed Martin Skunk Works. This demonstration enhances our proven history of collaboration with global partners and exemplifies what differentiates us: our dedication to Open Systems Architecture, which facilitates seamless integration across any platform, sensor, or shooter – irrespective of the manufacturer.”
