“Introducing the P2 Tiger: PT SSE Indonesia’s Latest Export Marvel Unveiled at Defense & Security 2025”
Indonesia’s PT SSE has today officially introduced the P2 Tiger, a novel 4×4 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) meticulously crafted for Indonesia and designed for global market appeal, showcased during the Defense & Security 2025 exhibition in Bangkok.

Developed in an unprecedented timeframe with mobility collaborator Texelis (France), the P2 Tiger stands as Indonesia’s most cutting-edge land vehicle to date.
Unveiled for the first time in January 2025 at PT SSE’s headquarters in Tangerang, the vehicle has successfully undergone a comprehensive series of road evaluations and is now making its world premiere at Asia’s foremost defense exhibition.
Defense & Security Thailand serves as the perfect stage for the commercial introduction of this pioneering vehicle in the region – the first 4×4 armored platform specifically designed to meet the highest technical standards. Fully compliant with NATO criteria in terms of mobility and ballistic defense, the P2 Tiger is a highly modern, powerful, and adaptable vehicle.
Tailored to meet the requirements of the Indonesian market, the P2 Tiger may also be the first armored transport with an export capability for the entire South-East Asia and beyond.
State-of-the-Art Design, Constructed to NATO Specifications
Fully compliant with NATO criteria for mobility and ballistic defense, the P2 Tiger merges advanced technology, superior survivability, and flexibility for various operational demands.

Its modular layout and expansive internal capacity allow for seamless integration of mission-specific systems, rendering it suitable for diverse operational needs.
This contemporary vehicle features the Celeris high-performance platform from Texelis, designed, tried, and manufactured using the latest technology, ensuring performance excellence, particularly in off-road capability, system carrying capacity, and payload efficiency, while equally prioritizing vehicle stability, handling, security, and troop comfort within.

With these intrinsic strengths and its robustness, the P2 Tiger can function in the most extreme environments and conditions autonomously. It operates efficiently on low-grade fuel, and maintenance has been engineered with thoughtful simplicity in mind, ensuring ease for maintenance crews and uptime for operators.
In its current APC configuration, the P2 Tiger comfortably accommodates 2+8 personnel, consisting of a crew of 2 (a driver and a vehicle commander), one full gunner station, one systems operator, and 6 additional operators.

Its extensive internal volume and versatile architecture permit the loading and integration of various equipment and kits. Thanks to the trailing arm technology from Texelis for the rear axle, the P2 Tiger is equipped with a fully flat floor, free from suspension triangles intruding into the hull, which eliminates wasted space and potential weak points in the armored chassis—a design decision that provides a significant competitive advantage.
The armored structure, developed by PT SSE with aid from Bima Bisalloy, delivers STANAG 4569 Level 2 protection (7.62x39mm) with options for Level 3 (7.62x51mm / 7.62x54mm) and Level 4 (14.5x114mm) already available.

Multiple variants and configurations have been developed and are poised for specialized troops and missions: cavalry, anti-drone, medic roles, Special Forces, etc.
Combat-Ready and Export-Prepared
At Defense & Security 2025, it is displayed alongside a comprehensive array of systems illustrating its payload and systems carrying ability, compatibility with cutting-edge technologies, and PT SSE’s commitment to offering not only a highly effective vehicle but also recommendations for established solutions already in service with the P2 Tiger. These solutions can be easily integrated due to the 18-ton GVW of the P2 Tiger, which provides ample space for modifications and a mobility buffer for future upgrades throughout the vehicle’s operational life.

This array includes the ARX30 weapon system from KNDS, offering 360° protection against both armored and unarmored threats. The ARX30 is already field-tested and notably serves as an anti-drone system in the French Army as part of the Serval LAD (anti-drone) variant.

PT SSE has also integrated Metravib’s Pilar V, a well-known acoustic threat detection system. Intended for armored vehicles, it detects and locates enemy activity and can transmit this information into any defense or weapon system for optimal effectiveness.

To ensure rapid defense against potential threats, the P2 Tiger is outfitted with Lacroix’s GALIX smoke grenade launchers, enabling quick deployment of a smoke screen for protection against detection, direct fire, and missile attacks.
The vehicle is equipped with anti-blast seating from UAE-based Advanced Armor Engineering, secured to the chassis, providing protection against mine/IED hazards.
To bolster its tactical capabilities, the P2 Tiger also incorporates an Advans Ursa inertial navigation system. This series ensures reliable navigation in GNSS-denied conditions and accommodates all mission profiles.

Finally, PT SSE has requested the installation of Elno’s intercoms in the P2 Tiger. This plug-and-play solution facilitates quick, effective, and secure communication both when the personnel are on board and when disembarked, maximizing crew efficiency and their coordination with on-ground troops.

This remarkable partnership lineup, combined with the
P2 Tiger’s intrinsic characteristics contribute to an impactful and refined offering, purposefully crafted for genuine tactical deployment and the demands of military personnel.
A versatile platform, the P2 Tiger can accommodate various additional equipment and solutions to comprehensively fulfill the requirements and preferences of the users, alongside the sensors and effectors currently in operation.
The P2 Tiger stands fully equipped to take on the realm of armoured vehicles globally.

Texelis and PT SSE: a full technology transfer, a genuine collaboration
The P2 Tiger is an Indonesian innovation, the first to gain from such a substantial technology transfer. It showcases the best of French technology concerning mobility, delivering the most advanced product available. It truly exemplifies the pinnacle of what France has to offer.

This alliance represents a mutually beneficial relationship that extends well beyond the Indonesian 4×4 sector. Demonstrated by the Security and Defense exhibition in Bangkok, and through everyday synergy, Texelis and PT SSE collaborate to forge new export triumphs for the Indonesian industry, both across Asia and globally.
Founded on trust and efficiency
The P2 Tiger is the initial vehicle finalized using Texelis’ Celeris mobility solution. Launched in 2023 and aggressively marketed since 2024, Celeris has already secured two clients outside of France, with PT SSE being the first to showcase their innovative vehicle.

For Texelis, the success of the P2 Tiger serves as proof that Celeris is the optimal solution for developing fully military platforms in record time with a success guarantee.
Texelis’ responsiveness in delivering mobility kits within four months, PT SSE’s commitment to advancing the project, and the outstanding collaboration between both partners have facilitated a swift trajectory for the P2 Tiger, spanning just one year from contract signing to prototype unveiling, followed by a year and a half of successful road evaluations.
This has now evolved into an exceptional platform for additional advancements, with MoUs already established with KNDS France and MBDA, alongside significant discussions with other industry leaders and innovative suppliers.
What is Celeris?
Celeris represents the only fully military mobility platform currently available.

It provides a unique proposal wherein Texelis manages the complete mobility system for their clients’ vehicles, from initial conception through qualification and production.
Celeris includes various off-the-shelf, pre-developed, tested, and production-ready kits encompassing the complete mobility spectrum, along with customized electronics, comprehensive support solutions, and a full technology transfer. Texelis experts ensure the rapid assembly of the initial prototypes and are prepared for the onset of serial production, offering consultancy on establishing production facilities and training teams for optimal efficiency.
Celeris transcends hardware: it embodies a commitment, a commitment that guarantees when the assembly process concludes and the vehicle is operational, everything functions flawlessly.

Since the successful tests of the P2 Tiger, Celeris has transitioned from a promise to a guarantee of success, showcasing proven results in Indonesia, and another Celeris-based vehicle is set to be unveiled next week at Milipol Paris in collaboration with INKAS from Canada.
