
Romania Joins the F-35 Elite: The 20th Member of a Global Alliance!
The Government of Romania has announced today its plan to acquire 32 Lockheed Martin 5th Generation F-35 Lightning II jets by endorsing a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) through a U.S. government Foreign Military Sale. This resolution signifies a pivotal moment in Romania’s defense strategy and its dedication to sustaining a formidable and cutting-edge military force.

The F-35 Joint Program Office is committed to fostering a strong partnership with Romania, guaranteeing a smooth transition and delivering extensive support for their pilots and maintainers as we progress together in this significant endeavor.”

The Romanian Air Force’s F-35s will integrate flawlessly with the existing F-16 fleets, augmenting the distinctive, powerful attributes of each aircraft and creating a fortified defense posture. Recently, Lockheed Martin and the governments of Romania and the Netherlands initiated the European F-16 Training Center (EFTC) in Romania. The collaborations at the EFTC provide customized training at an enhanced pace, ensuring Romanian pilots are thoroughly equipped to perform their missions safely and efficiently.
