Jordan’s Royal Air Force Enhances Training with New Bell 505 Helicopters
Bell Textron Inc., a subsidiary of Textron Inc., today revealed the signed contract for the acquisition of 10 Bell 505 helicopters by the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) during The Special Operations Forces Exhibition & Conference (SOFEX) in Aqaba, Jordan.
This agreement encompasses the supply of the aircraft along with a flight training simulator and an extensive computer-based educational program aimed at enhancing both basic and advanced rotorcraft flight training at the King Hussein Air College in Mafraq, Jordan.

“We express our deep appreciation to the Royal Jordanian Air Force as we announce this agreement for the Bell 505s to serve as the new helicopter trainer for the Air Force,” stated Patrick Moulay, senior vice president of International Business at Bell.
“We are devoted to the Armed Forces, the Air Force, and the people of Jordan, pledging our dedication to providing top-quality service. The Bell 505 will support the brave men and women of the Air Force by playing a vital role in the operational readiness of its cadets,” remarked Sameer Rehman, managing director for Africa and the Middle East at Bell.
The Bell 505 is well-regarded among commercial and military clients, offering exceptional power, superior visibility, and cutting-edge Garmin avionics. The company recently achieved the milestone of the 400th Bell 505 delivery since its inception in 2017.
“We eagerly anticipate incorporating the Bell 505 aircraft into our fleet, equipping our pilots with one of the finest aircraft available for their training. The addition of 10 new aircraft will facilitate our expansion within the nation, thereby enhancing the capabilities of the Royal Jordanian Air Force,” stated Brig. Gen. Mohammad F. Hiyasat, Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force.
Being the most sophisticated helicopter in its category available in the market, every detail has been meticulously considered in the design of the Bell 505, beginning with a fully digitally controlled engine, and advanced avionics that significantly lower pilot workload while maximizing safety across diverse operational scenarios.
SOFEX is recognized as the premier exhibition for special operations forces and homeland security globally. Now in its 13th year, the event was initiated by His Majesty King Abdullah II to create a platform for unveiling and showcasing innovative equipment and technologies in security operations.
