Saab Launches Revolutionary GlobalEye: The Future of Surveillance in the Skies
Saab Achieves Milestone: On 29 April 2020, Saab successfully delivered the first GlobalEye Swing Role Surveillance System aircraft to the United Arab Emirates.
The United Arab Emirates has procured three GlobalEye aircraft, having originally formalized the agreement in late 2015. In November 2019, the country further indicated its intention to finalize an amendment to acquire two additional systems.
“The delivery of the inaugural GlobalEye signifies a crucial achievement for Saab and represents an important step in the advancement of airborne early warning and control. We have set a new standard for the industry, and I am proud to assert that we have provided the most sophisticated airborne surveillance solution globally to the United Arab Emirates,” declared Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.
GlobalEye is Saab’s pioneering airborne early warning and control system, offering extensive aerial, maritime, and terrestrial surveillance within a single solution. It combines Saab’s state-of-the-art Erieye Extended Range Radar with various advanced sensors, all seamlessly integrated into the ultra-long-range Global 6000 aircraft from Bombardier.
