Ukraine Boosts Air Defense with C-UAS Systems from KONGSBERG

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has finalized an agreement via the International Fund for Ukraine for the provision of Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS), which will be contributed to Ukraine.

The shipment includes multiple CORTEX Typhon systems, engineered to neutralize a diverse array of UAVs with options to either physically damage or otherwise incapacitate the aerial menace. The contract is valued at GBP 56 million.

“This agreement will deliver a considerable enhancement in capability for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will bolster their capacity to safeguard their citizens and defend their nation against aerial threats,” asserts Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.

The CORTEX Typhon C-UAS is grounded in proven software and hardware from Teledyne Flir and KONGSBERG, incorporating surveillance systems and the KONGSBERG Remote Weapon Station (RWS) alongside the CORTEX Integrated Combat Solution (ICS).

In conjunction with the delivery, the Norwegian Government has contributed Dingo 2 vehicles, KONGSBERG RWS, and armaments.

The International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) was created by the UK and various global partners to pinpoint and acquire essential capabilities and deliver them swiftly to Ukraine. Norway and the UK are among numerous nations that have supported the fund.
