
As the helicopter fleet within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia grows to deliver a range of services benefitting the regional economy and communities, there is a heightened need for advanced technical assistance. Leonardo has further reinforced its partnership with Mukamalah Aviation Company (a fully-owned subsidiary of Saudi Aramco) by appointing it as an Authorized Service Center in the Kingdom.
The two partners celebrated this recent milestone during an official occasion at the Farnborough International Airshow on Wednesday.
Mukamalah Aviation Company is set to provide a broad spectrum of maintenance and repair services for its AW139 and AW109 Power helicopters, in addition to third-party aircraft of the same models from its facilities located in Tanajib, Ras Tanura, and Dammam.
Recognized as one of the largest operators of Leonardo helicopters in the Middle East, Mukamalah Aviation Company has been operating AW139s since 2008 and AW109 light twins since 2006, mainly carrying out offshore transport missions in Saudi Arabia to support the oil and gas industry. Currently, Mukamalah’s Leonardo helicopter fleet encompasses 27 units.
Mukamalah Aviation Company Ltd., a wholly owned arm of Saudi Aramco, is distinguished as the pioneering aviation enterprise in Saudi Arabia and the second within the Middle East. Established in 1934 under the designation of Saudi Aramco Aviation, Mukamalah was primarily aimed at servicing the oil and gas sector.
Based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Mukamalah is a full-scale aviation service provider operating a fleet of 60 aircraft of diverse types to cater to corporate and governmental clients. To bolster its operations, Mukamalah maintains its fleet in expansive 15,000 sqm hangars situated in Dammam, Ras Tanura, and Tanajib. In addition to its large fleet, Mukamalah routinely operates at 18 airports across Saudi Arabia, with thirteen of these being fully managed and run by Mukamalah.
