“United Front: Lockheed Martin and Anduril Team Up to Combat Drone Dangers in the Middle East”

Lockheed Martin has effectively merged the Q-53 multi-mission radar (MMR) with Anduril’s Lattice Command and Control (C2) ecosystem during the U.S. Central Command Desert Guardian drill conducted at Fort Drum earlier this month. Desert Guardian is part of a series of exercises designed to close crucial gaps in its capability to identify and monitor drone threats.

“The successful unification of the Q-53 MMR and Lattice exemplifies Lockheed Martin’s esteemed collaboration with the U.S. Government and industry allies, enabling us to provide customized solutions for our clients,” stated David Kenneweg, director of Multi-mission Air Defense Radars at Lockheed Martin. “At Desert Guardian, we were able to cooperate in discovering customer requirements as we persist in innovating the technology essential for detecting and countering emerging threats to facilitate smarter, quicker decision-making.”

During Desert Guardian, Lockheed Martin’s Q-53 MMR swiftly integrated into the Lattice C2 Network and transmitted data to Lattice to establish and generate a unified air picture. This integration showcased the potential to significantly improve the overall operational landscape, allowing for more informed and timely decision-making in a connected environment.

“We are evolving to meet our customers’ mission and developing capabilities that will enhance operators’ efficiency; we will continue our collaboration with the Department of Defense to address and resolve joint urgent operational demands,” stated Kenneweg.

Lockheed Martin is capitalizing on the achievements of Desert Guardian and gearing up for a subsequent exercise, orchestrated by CENTCOM, scheduled to occur at a base in the Middle East. The company’s multi-domain proficiency will assist their client in merging sensors into a singular interface utilized by operators in the field.
