Boeing Secures $2.1 Billion Deal to Enhance F-18 and EA-18G Capabilities

Boeing has secured two contracts totaling over $2.1 billion for the enhancement of F-18 Hornet and EA-18G Growler military aircraft to address the subpar performance and inflated costs associated with the Lockheed F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

Boeing Co., located in St. Louis, Missouri, has been granted a $2,020,956,832 cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

This agreement facilitates enhancements for the F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft, encompassing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) models, and will furnish deliverables and services grounded on system configuration set requirements, incorporating all software and hardware essential for the introduction of new functionalities on the aircraft for the Navy and FMS clientele.

Operations will take place in St. Louis, Missouri (86%); El Segundo, California (11%); and China Lake, California (3%), with an expected completion date of December 2027.

No financial resources will be allocated at the moment of award.
