Collaboration Unleashed: The UK and PGZ-MBDA Join Forces for Cutting-Edge Anti-Tank Solutions

Nine firms from the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) have formalized a partnership with MBDA UK concerning collaboration in the tank destroyer domain. This pact will facilitate the conceptualization and fabrication of this category of vehicles utilizing MBDA UK’s Brimstone anti-tank guided missiles.

The agreement has been executed by delegates from PGZ and MBDA UK. It represents a continuation of the understanding established in 2019 about the collaboration between PGZ and its UK associates. This contract lays the groundwork for further collaboration in both Polish and international markets, focusing on the integration of the ATGMs with the components of the designated tank destroyer squadron module and the production of the Brimstone missile within PGZ facilities.

Sebastian Chwałek, CEO of PGZ S.A. stated,During challenging times, having dependable partners is invaluable. We are fortifying our collaboration with the UK defense sector, where MBDA UK serves as a prominent representative. Today’s agreement marks yet another progression towards establishing the production of advanced generation Brimstone missiles domestically. Through Polish-British collaboration, a joint proposal will be extended to the Polish Armed Forces and allied troops, and our firms will also integrate into supply chains.”

Chris Allam, Managing Director of MBDA UK commented, “We are thrilled that the execution of the Tank Destroyer delivery initiative offers another prospect for PGZ and MBDA to reinforce an already robust alliance. By intensifying our collaboration around Brimstone, we will collectively enhance the evolution of Poland’s military and industrial capabilities, along with elevating the strategic goals of our companies.”

The OTTOKAR-BRZOZA initiative anticipates that the Polish Armed Forces will procure a battery module of self-propelled tank destroyers, based on a state-of-the-art platform capable of neutralizing armored targets using anti-tank guided missiles. Besides the tank destroyers, the module will also encompass support and command vehicles.

The following companies have formalized the agreement: WZM S.A., WZU S.A., OBRUM sp. z o.o., Jelcz sp. z o.o., Rosomak S.A., along with members of the PGZ-OTTOKAR consortium: PGZ S.A. (the consortium leader), HSW S.A., MESKO S.A. and WZE S.A. The consortium is tasked with the development, manufacturing, and delivery of tank destroyers, a novel offering in PGZ’s portfolio.
