CNIM Unveils Revolutionary Motorized Floating Bridge Technology
Celebrated for over three decades for its proficiency in crossing systems, the CNIM Group unveils its innovative Motorized Floating Bridge (PFM) concept. In response to the evolving demands articulated by various NATO nations to tackle contemporary and forthcoming challenges, CNIM has devised a next-generation motorized floating bridge, set to launch in the first half of 2021.
The advanced PFM will boast even higher capacity, granting users crucial competitive advantages.
Engineered for transporting the heaviest vehicles now and in the foreseeable future, the PFM possesses MLC 90 Tracked and MLC 100 Wheeled crossing capabilities, ensuring a secure transit for all current and upcoming types of military vehicles, including heavy tanks (Abrams M1A2 SEPV3, Leopard 2A7, Challenger, Leclerc, MGCS):
To address terrain and operational needs, the PFM can be deployed in two setups: bridge or ferry.
Appropriate for all types of carriers and available in two module lengths (6.75 m and 10 m), the PFM is compatible with all 8×8 carriers in service with the armed forces and can also be launched from special semi-low loaders.
Unmatched simplicity of assembly and rapid deployment.
Equipped with high-performance integrated engines, PFM modules are managed from a single remote control & command system, enabling swift and straightforward assembly and deployment while minimizing the logistical footprint (no need for auxiliary vessels) and the number of operators.
With the capacity to accommodate two different access ramps (tactical or modular) for adaptability to all operational doctrines, the PFM is compatible with all floating bridges currently in use.
Designed from inception for airborne transport, the PFM can be rapidly deployed for external operations.
The New Generation Motorized Floating Bridge guarantees swift and hassle-free deployment, offers outstanding maneuverability and improved performance on water, while significantly reducing the logistical and personnel footprint (no tugboats, remote control & command system, optimized number of carriers).
The PFM stands as the most versatile solution available in the market. To cater to distinct client requirements, it is offered in various configurations.
”More than just an advancement, CNIM has formulated a genuinely modular system that’s both straightforward and sturdy, effortlessly adapting to all the Armed Forces’ operational needs globally,” remarks Xavier Montazel, Director of the Defence and Maritime Business Unit, CNIM Industrial Systems.
Beyond its military applications, the PFM can be tailored for civilian purposes, such as during natural disasters, where it can function as a ferry or temporary bridge to replace fixed bridges obliterated by severe flooding.
