The exhibit, a component of the DARPA Pheme initiative, demonstrated connectivity capabilities within the Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) operational landscape.

Conventional communication frameworks emit energy in various directions, heightening the risk of detection and interference from adversaries. To enhance stealth and durability, Collins has engineered a directional communication system utilizing 5G technology that transmits energy solely towards the receivers. This innovative system integrates new directional detection and tracking methodologies that facilitate operations in GPS-denied scenarios.

By exchanging video and control information, the demonstration illustrated high-capacity communications with minimal detection between an airborne radio housed in a 5-inch pod and a terrestrial radio.
