Revolutionizing Defense: VITEC Unleashes Next-Gen Video Innovations at World Defense Show 2024
VITEC, a frontrunner in the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) technology sector, will present its latest advanced streaming solutions at the World Defense Show, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 4-8 February 2024. At booth F9, VITEC will highlight its innovative and adaptable ruggedized encoder lineup for ISTAR or Situational Awareness video, along with its video content management platform crafted for swift deployment in the field. This marks VITEC’s first participation at the World Defense Show, following significant growth within VITEC’s Middle East team, operating from strategic offices in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, UAE.
“We are enthusiastically looking forward to our debut at the World Defense Show, where we plan to demonstrate our proficiency in delivering exceptional video quality at incredibly low bitrates – a crucial requirement for increasingly vital ISTAR missions utilizing drones and both manned and unmanned vehicles to relay reliable live tactical video to command centers in real-time,” states Walid Tabet, Regional Director, VITEC. “Our participation at the World Defense Show underscores our commitment to addressing and enhancing the evolving demands of the defense and security landscape in the Middle East, while our strategic expansion in the region signifies our ongoing dedication to fortifying our presence in the dynamic defense industry.”

Displayed at the VITEC booth will be the MGW Pico+ TOUGH, a compact and energy-efficient video encoder tailored for unmanned and manned land, maritime, or aerial vehicles. The MGW Pico+ TOUGH boasts an exceptionally small airborne and marine certified housing, engineered to perform under all environmental conditions. It circumvents network bandwidth limitations to deliver optimal video quality at low bitrate. Moreover, this encoder is capable of dynamically adjusting its bitrate ‘on the fly’ to optimally enhance video quality depending on the available bandwidth. The compact device weighs less than 400g, making it the smallest and most energy-efficient HEVC and H.264 HD/SD video encoder currently available.
Also being showcased is the MGW Diamond TOUGH, a quad-channel HEVC and H.264 HD/SD encoder that offers multi-channel low latency streaming, enhanced by High Dynamic Range (HDR) for remarkable video contrast and brightness. Furthermore, the included next-generation HEVC (H.265) compression technology facilitates a bandwidth usage reduction of up to 50% compared to existing H.264 standards.
Additionally, the EZ TV ISRTM (Fully Integrated Tactical IPTV System) will feature prominently at the VITEC booth, enabling users to process, archive, index, manage, and share tactical video and metadata content effortlessly. Its secure and dependable architecture – designed to meet Information Assurance and Cyber-Security standards – empowers government and military organizations to swiftly exploit and manage live and recorded video assets. EZ TV ISRTM can be quickly deployed either in the field or at a secure hosted facility to function as the central hub for overseeing live and recorded IPTV. This all-encompassing solution also encompasses editing and collaboration functionalities for analyzing and sharing video assets complete with KLV/STANAG metadata. This comprehensive suite of features positions EZ TV ISRTM as an invaluable asset for optimizing video content management and cooperative workflows in demanding tactical environments.
