In their journey towards digital advancement, the German Armed Forces have finalized a contract with Systematic to provide their dismounted troops with the cutting-edge command and control software SitaWare Edge.
This acquisition of the enterprise license signifies another crucial milestone in the Bundeswehr’s Mission Enabling Service (MESBw) – the integrated software framework created to facilitate command across all tiers.
SitaWare Edge will be utilized in the ‘Portable’ variant of the MESBw, enhancing the capabilities of ‘Command Post’ (SitaWare Headquarters) and ‘Mounted’ (SitaWare Frontline); the tactical sectors where the software has already been effectively deployed and operationally validated.
Collectively, these functionalities enable uninterrupted digital command-and-control – from fixed or deployable command centers, through vehicle-based systems, to dismounted forces, ensuring that all personnel maintain complete situational awareness regarding planning and operations.
The acquisition also incorporates the relevant Software Development Kits (SDKs), establishing the groundwork for an open C4ISR ecosystem – which facilitates third-party integrations, tailored to meet the unique demands of the Bundeswehr.
