“Collins Aerospace Transforms Black Hawk Helicopters with Innovative Modular Avionics for the U.S. Army”

Collins Aerospace, a sector of RTX (NYSE: RTX), has attained an $80 million contract to upgrade the avionics framework of U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopters as part of the H-60M MOSA Avionics Architecture Solution project.

The upgrade will feature Mosarc®, Collins’ suite of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)-compliant innovations, aimed at streamlining technology integration for a complex and rapidly evolving combat setting, allowing military personnel to swiftly modernize avionics technology in real-time.

“Mosarc will equip U.S. Army Black Hawk cockpits with an open systems architecture, enabling the swift incorporation of new capabilities to fulfill modern operational demands,” indicated Jenny Miller, vice president and general manager of Military Avionics and Helicopters at Collins Aerospace. “The system’s interoperability is vital for joint and coalition operations, and Mosarc will facilitate rapid deployment of technologies to conform to swiftly changing conditions, ensuring these aircraft remain effective for numerous years to come.”

Mosarc is engineered to boost upgrade efficiency and ultimately reduce maintenance costs over the helicopter’s lifespan. By embedding Mosarc into Black Hawks, Collins Aerospace seeks to create a standardization across the Army’s current and upcoming fleet of both piloted and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Efforts regarding this contract will be executed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Huntsville, Alabama.
