GDIT Secures $143M Deal to Revolutionize Naval Electronic Warfare Tactics
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a branch of General Dynamics, announced today that it has been awarded a $143 million electronic warfare agreement by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD).
The sole-award task order, issued in January by the Joint Electronic Attack Compatibility Office, includes a one-year primary phase along with four additional one-year optional extensions.
Electronic Warfare (EW) enables military forces to disrupt or control adversary communication and weapon systems. With rapid technological progress and the extensive implementation of modern radar and missile systems, the necessity for advanced EW functionalities to protect crucial military resources in impending conflicts has become increasingly vital.
Under this agreement, GDIT will deliver assistance in engineering, logistics, intelligence evaluation, and technology showcases, featuring low-cost, nimble EW jammers that can be deployed across various airborne platforms, including aircraft, helicopters, and UAVs.
