“Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin Collaborate to Revolutionize GMARS at Global Innovation Summit”

Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin, partners in the Global Mobile Artillery Rocket System (GMARS) project, hosted a conference for international clientele in Europe. This assembly gathered military representatives, industry experts, and defense officials from 14 nations to delve into the latest innovations regarding the dual-launcher system and extended-range precision strike potential. Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin are also scheduled to perform a live firing exhibition this summer to demonstrate GMARS’s capabilities.

LTG (R) Ben Hodges, the former Commander of the US Army Europe, delivered the keynote address, imparting insights on the modern battlefield’s obstacles and future opportunities. Participants engaged in a facility tour and received presentations on the GMARS launcher, its features, and a diverse assortment of munitions available, including Lockheed Martin’s precision-guided munitions.

Discussions on interoperability, a key focus of the summit, showcased how GMARS can effortlessly integrate with NATO systems like HIMARS and M270, providing a comprehensive and flexible long-range precision strike framework. The GMARS launcher, constructed on the Rheinmetall HX3 platform, offers outstanding mobility, survivability, and versatility, making it an ideal option for military forces operating in fluid conditions.

The event also included a networking segment, enabling attendees to connect with industry specialists, military representatives, and peers to address their specific requirements and challenges.
“We were thrilled to showcase the capabilities of the GMARS launcher at the summit alongside our partner Lockheed Martin,” commented Dr. Björn Bernhard, Head of Rheinmetall’s Vehicle Systems Division. “This event provided a unique opportunity for European clients to gain insights into the system, its benefits, and how it can meet their long-range precision strike demands.”

“Lockheed Martin is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions that align with the changing needs of our clients,” expressed Paula Hartley, Vice President and General Manager of Tactical Missiles at Lockheed Martin. “The GMARS initiative embodies this commitment, and we were eager to discuss its features and benefits with clients at the summit.”
