Rheinmetall Spectac: Revolutionizing Tactical Operations with Cutting-Edge Stun Grenade Technology

Rheinmetall proudly introduces Spectac, its pioneering non-lethal effector. This rectangular stun grenade is specifically engineered for use by military and law enforcement elite operatives. The most notable aspect of the user-friendly Spectac is its smartphone-inspired design, featuring the locking ring and rocker arm ignitor integrated into a rectangular casing comparable in size to a mobile device.

Its inventive design presents numerous benefits. Weighing roughly 350 grams, measuring 110 mm in length, 63 mm in width, and 20 mm in thickness, this ergonomically crafted one-bang stun grenade fits seamlessly into the tactical gear of special operators, enhancing portability. Furthermore, its compact configuration allows for discreet transport during undercover and bodyguard missions. Additionally, its rectangular form provides extra tactical advantages. Unlike conventional round grenades, the Spectac remains stable post-impact, rapidly coming to a stop, which is especially advantageous for use on staircases. Its maximum movement radius is restricted to only 35 cm, ensuring that the intended effect consistently occurs within the target zone.

Designed to be waterproof at depths of up to 20 meters, the Spectac generates a blinding flash and an overwhelming sound. Currently available in models with acoustic pressure levels of 170 and 180 decibels, it offers two delay options: 0.5 seconds and 1.5 seconds. To enhance safety during handling, Rheinmetall engineers selected a proven bottom top venting (BTV) configuration. This design ensures that in the event of an accidental detonation, the explosion is directed out of both the top and bottom of the grenade, effectively safeguarding the user’s throwing hand. The Spectac is free from hazardous fragments. Each grenade undergoes X-ray inspection prior to dispatch, ensuring top-notch functional reliability and safety, with images retained for ten years. Neither the percussion cap nor the ignition delay mechanism contains lead-based materials, and the grenades adhere to REACH, the European Chemicals Regulation.

Having successfully passed qualification at the close of 2020, the Spectac is available for immediate use. This groundbreaking product underscores Rheinmetall’s standing as a premier provider of pyrotechnic effectors for law enforcement and military operations.
