“RTX and Raytheon Forge New Alliances to Advance Operational AI through Mentor Protégé Partnerships”

Raytheon, a division of RTX, has secured two pivotal Mentor-Protégé Agreement initiatives from the Navy Department’s Office of Small Business Programs aimed at advancing operational Artificial Intelligence for Defense Department systems and initiatives.

With support from NAVAIR and the Naval Research Office, Raytheon will provide guidance to Anacapa Micro Products, Inc. and Nara Logics, Inc. Under separate three-year agreements, Raytheon will offer mentorship focused on operational AI concerning system design, software frameworks, systems integration, IT security protocols, and authority-to-operate mandates in a cooperative atmosphere.

“The Mentor Protégé Program is a vital component of our comprehensive supplier diversity small business approach,” remarked Colin Whelan, president of Advanced Technology at Raytheon. “Through this alliance, we’ll utilize commercial advancements that can significantly enhance our defense capabilities and ultimately ensure the success of our servicemen and women.”

This partnership is a part of the DoD’s Mentor-Protégé Program, inaugurated in 1990 and recognized as the longest-running federal mentor-protégé initiative in operation. Raytheon has been actively involved in this program since 1991.

Collectively, the teams from Raytheon, Anacapa, and Nara Logics will collaborate to expedite the evolution of next-generation autonomous features to improve the decision-making efficiency of our servicemen and women.

“We are honored to engage in this Mentor Protégé partnership that will enhance our shared technical capabilities to deliver essential mission support functionalities on cutting-edge defense and intelligence platforms,” stated Jana Eggers, CEO of Nara Logics.

“Our organization takes great pride in collaborating with Raytheon under this Mentor Protégé Agreement, and we are eager to assist in the development, manufacturing, and assessment of next-gen AI to better serve the warfighter,” expressed Ken Marks, CEO of Anacapa Micro Products.

Upon conclusion, Raytheon will maintain a highly resilient technology roadmap aligned with the latest commercial innovations from industry-leading small business capabilities.
