Samir Mehta Takes the Helm as President of L3Harris’ Communication Systems Division
L3Harris Technologies has officially appointed Samir (Sam) Mehta as the fresh president for its Communication Systems division, accountable to the Chair and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher E. Kubasik. “I am thrilled and honored by the chance to become part of such an exceptional team and vibrant company,” remarked Mehta. “As a pioneer in defense communications, L3Harris is strategically positioned to continually enhance the capabilities of our armed forces and allies.”
The appointment takes effect immediately.

Mehta brings a wealth of varied aerospace and defense expertise to L3Harris, previously holding the role of President, Advanced Structures at Collins Aerospace, a division of Raytheon Technologies.
In this capacity, Mehta oversaw a multi-billion dollar global operation centered on next-generation aviation and flight components for both commercial and military clientele. Before his tenure at Raytheon, Mehta dedicated over 17 years to Sikorsky Aircraft, where he notably served as President of Defence Systems and Services.
Mehta takes over from Dana Mehnert, who is retiring after 38 years of exceptional service at L3Harris. “We are indebted to Dana for his substantial contributions to our company over nearly four decades,” Kubasik expressed. “I echo the sentiments of the entire L3Harris team in appreciating his service and wishing him the very best in his forthcoming retirement.”
As the president of the CS division, Mehta will oversee business strategy, financial performance, and operational execution encompassing a diverse array of products, including tactical radios, airborne communication systems, secure connectivity solutions, night vision technology, as well as professional and public safety networks.
Furthermore, Mehta will play a pivotal role in driving both domestic and international expansion, fostering industry-leading innovation, and ensuring agility to match customer requirements and global security challenges.
