“Revolutionizing Defense: Meet SERVAL — KNDS France’s Bold Leap in Counter-UAV Innovation”
A Choice Already Finalized by the French Armed Forces
In December 2024, as part of the elite segment of the VLTP initiative, the French DGA commissioned 530 SERVAL vehicles from the collaborative venture formed by KNDS France and Texelis. Among these, 24 SERVAL C-UAV units are scheduled to be delivered to the French military beginning in 2028, equipping users with a vital counter-UAV capability. The French Military Programming Law (LPM) ultimately targets the acquisition of 48 such systems.
SERVAL C-UAV: The Newest Variant in a Multifunctional Lineup
Equipped with the ARX®30 remotely-operated turret designed by KNDS France, the SERVAL C-UAV provides close protection for valuable assets.
This model boosts the overall count of SERVAL variants to 23, comprising electronic warfare, medical, troop transport, VSHORAD, and command post configurations. The strength of the SCORPION initiative rests in its adaptability: designed for the ever-changing and complex operational environments, KNDS France consistently innovates to deliver solutions that meet the demands of modern, high-intensity conflicts—like those observed in Ukraine.
The SERVAL C-UAV features the high-altitude, rapid-firing ARX®30 30mm cannon. Its integrated radar, radiofrequency detection system, and capacity to deploy Airburst munitions render the SERVAL C-UAV an indispensable asset in countering UAV threats.
A Crucial Effector to Protect Tactical Operations
Leveraging its proficiency in armament and munitions, KNDS France presents a comprehensive counter-UAV solution, ensuring operators achieve operational supremacy over aerial threats. As component of this plan, the DGA agreement also includes the advancement by KNDS France of a 30mm Airburst munition.
The ARX®30’s 30mm armament is integrated into a complete system that features a 3D radar, multi-directional RF detection, targeting mechanism, turret, and specialized 30mm Airburst munitions. Therefore, KNDS France provides a full-spectrum solution—from detection to neutralization—potentially adaptable across various platforms (land, air, and sea) to meet a wide range of operational demands.
