VITEC Gears Up for EUROSATORY 2024: Showcasing Resilient ISTAR Encoders and Cutting-Edge Tactical Video Innovations

VITEC, a frontrunner in the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) technology sector, is set to unveil its latest advanced streaming innovations at EUROSATORY 2024, taking place at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre from June 17-21. Located in Hall 5A at Stand K341, VITEC will feature its robust and adaptable ruggedized TOUGH encoder series specifically designed for challenging situational awareness video capture, along with the state-of-the-art MGW Diamond-H, a 4K & Dual-Channel SD/HD HDMI Encoder. Additionally, EZ TV ISR – VITEC’s efficient video content administration solution engineered for swift implementation in the field – will be showcased. As a solution innovator, VITEC will host a session as part of Eurosatory’s conference agenda, illustrating how to tackle video workflow hurdles effectively.

Making its debut at Eurosatory, the MGW Diamond-H boasts innovative functionalities that transmit Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) video streams via RF or satellite links, offering real-time situational awareness and bolstering tactical decision-making. The screen sharing features of the MGW Diamond-H facilitate harmonious collaboration and synchronization among team members, enabling the instant exchange of vital information. Equipped with stream protection systems including ZixiTM, SRT, RIST, and Pro-MPEG, it guarantees secure and dependable transfer of crucial data, preserving operational integrity. Furthermore, the Power over Ethernet (PoE) feature streamlines deployment by supplying both power and data through a single Ethernet cable, minimizing the requirement for extra power sources and enhancing quick, adaptable installations in dynamic field settings.

“VITEC is devoted to providing dependable, high-performance ISTAR video streaming solutions tailored for the most rigorous military demands,” states Mark Rushton, Defence and Security Specialist at VITEC. “Our encoders are constructed to withstand challenging environments while delivering outstanding video quality at reduced bitrates, a crucial need for modern bandwidth-limited missions.”

On Wednesday, June 19th at 11:30 AM at the Exhibitor’s Corner (Hall 6), VITEC’s Mark Rushton will lead a session named Workflow Challenges in Real-time Video, where he will delve into the technologies available to address the challenges identified in real-time video distribution within the Defence and Security Sector. This presentation aims to help attendees grasp the limitations of real-time video transmission and reception across various network choices and how to navigate these challenges effectively.

Also featured at the VITEC stand will be the MGW Pico+ TOUGH, a compact and energy-efficient video encoder crafted for both unmanned and manned land, sea, or air vehicles. The MGW Pico+ TOUGH is housed in an ultra-compact airborne and marine-certified enclosure, designed to operate in all types of environmental conditions. It adeptly navigates network bandwidth limitations to ensure peak video quality at minimal bitrate and now incorporates overlay capabilities for timestamping and camera identification. Moreover, this encoder dynamically adjusts its bitrate ‘on the fly’ to optimize video quality based on the available bandwidth. With a weight of less than 400g, it stands as the smallest and most power-efficient HEVC and H.264 HD/SD video encoder available in the market.

Another addition to the TOUGH series is the MGW Diamond TOUGH, a quad-channel HEVC and H.264 HD/SD encoder which delivers multi-channel low-latency streaming bolstered by High Dynamic Range (HDR) for remarkable video contrast and brightness. Additionally, the next-generation HEVC (H.265) compression implemented contributes to a reduction in network bandwidth consumption by up to 50% compared to current H.264 standards.

Completing VITEC’s offerings is the EZ TV ISR, a fully integrated tactical IPTV system, empowering users to process, archive, index, manage, and share tactical video and metadata. Its secure and reliable framework – aligned with information assurance and cybersecurity protocols – enables governmental and military organizations to swiftly utilize and process live and recorded video assets. The EZ TV ISR can be rapidly deployed in field conditions or at a secure hosted location, serving as the central hub for managing live and tactical video feeds.
