Sikorsky and Babcock Forge Decade-Long Partnership to Enhance S-92® Helicopter Support

Strategic Partnership Between Sikorsky and Babcock Mission Critical Services

FARNBOROUGH, England, July 11, 2016 — Sikorsky, a division of Lockheed Martin, has announced a significant 10-year agreement with Babcock Mission Critical Services Ltd., aimed at enhancing the support for Babcock’s S-92® helicopter fleet. This partnership introduces Sikorsky’s Total Assurance Program, which guarantees continued aftermarket support, ensuring streamlined operational costs and minimizing unexpected expenses.

The contract was finalized during a ceremony at the prestigious 2016 Farnborough Air Show, attended by Sikorsky’s Vice President for Strategy & Business Development, Nathalie Previte, and Babcock MCS Chief Operating Officer, Andrea Cicero.

“We are pleased that Sikorsky is committed to improving material availability to keep these aircraft in the air, and we are confident they will continue to provide world-class support,” stated Cicero. “This support is vital as we deliver essential services to our customers.”

Previte commented, “Our collaboration with Babcock MCS over the past two years culminated in this agreement, which enhances our support presence and addresses Babcock’s requirements for operational readiness in their critical missions in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres.”

Sikorsky and Babcock have been partners since 1979, with Babcock currently operating over 20 Sikorsky aircraft across regions such as the North Sea, Western Australia, and Spain. The S-92 helicopter, renowned for its safety standards, is recognized as one of the most successful aircraft in service today.

As a leader in helicopter design and service, Sikorsky has delivered over 275 S-92 helicopters globally, with the operational fleet recently achieving over one million flight hours. S-92 helicopters are versatile, executing various missions including offshore oil and gas personnel transport, search and rescue operations, and transportation duties for heads of state, utility, and airline passengers.
